Algemeen
What is Orbyte?
Orbyte is a professional platform we use to build websites for businesses and organisations. You get a website with its own design and content, built on a secure, carefully managed technical foundation that we do not need to reinvent for every project.
Is Orbyte a standard website or a template?
No. The technical foundation and various components are reused, but the design, content and structure of your website are tailored to your organisation. This combines a proven technical foundation with plenty of freedom in how your website looks.
What is the difference between Orbyte and a fully bespoke solution?
A fully bespoke solution also involves building much of the technology from scratch. Orbyte uses an existing, verified foundation and adds custom development only where it is truly needed. This leaves more time and budget for what makes your website unique and relevant.
Which organisations is Orbyte suitable for?
Orbyte is particularly suited to businesses and organisations that need a professional website and want to manage their content easily themselves. This can range from a compact business website to a multilingual site or one with many services, products, projects, locations or other structured content.
When is Orbyte less suitable?
Orbyte has a deliberately defined scope. When a project mainly involves highly specific software logic or applications that go well beyond what a website can offer, we assess whether a bespoke solution would be a better fit.
Is Orbyte suitable for a small business website?
Yes. For organisations with a limited number of pages and straightforward content, Orbyte can be used in a compact setup. You keep the same professional technical foundation without adding features you do not need.
Can Orbyte also handle large amounts of content or an extensive offering?
Yes. Services, products, projects, locations, news, vacancies and other information can be organised as separate content types. This keeps even an extensive offering clear for both visitors and content managers.
Is everything possible within Orbyte?
No, by design. Orbyte uses a controlled foundation to keep websites secure, stable and manageable. When a request falls outside that foundation, we assess whether custom development makes sense or another solution would be a better fit.
Technologie & aanpak
What technology is Orbyte built on?
Orbyte uses Drupal as its technical foundation. Drupal is a professional open-source CMS particularly suited to structured content, multilingual websites, access management and websites that need room to grow.
Why does Orbyte use a shared technical foundation?
Reusing reliable components means we do not have to solve the same technical problems for every website. This makes development, maintenance and future extensions easier to manage while leaving room for your own design and content.
Can my website be expanded later?
Yes. You can add pages, languages, content modules and other available Orbyte features later. The website is designed so that you do not have to start again whenever a new need arises.
Ontwerp & pagina-opbouw
What is a finished page?
A finished page is built within the chosen design and populated with the supplied content. Text, images and content blocks are brought together into a fully finished page.
Can my website have a completely individual design?
Yes. The technical foundation does not dictate how your website should look. Colours, typography, imagery, page structure and other visual choices are tailored to your organisation’s identity.
Can the design be refreshed later without building a completely new website?
In many cases, yes. Because content, technology and design are built as separately as possible, a visual refresh can often build on existing content and functionality.
Is my website suitable for smartphones and tablets?
Yes. Orbyte websites use responsive design so that content and navigation adapt to different screen sizes.
Can I create new pages myself?
That depends on your chosen plan and setup. Where flexible page management is included, you can build pages yourself using the available content blocks without needing a developer each time.
What are content blocks?
Content blocks are reusable components used to build pages. Examples include text with images, cards, calls to action, figures, quotes and other visual sections available within your website’s design.
Can I change the order and structure of pages myself?
When flexible page management is included in your plan, you can add, edit and rearrange the available content blocks yourself. This lets you create new pages without commissioning a unique layout each time.
Inhoud & modules
Can several team members manage the website?
Yes. Drupal supports users and roles with different permissions. For example, you can define who may edit content, publish it or manage specific parts of the website.
What is a content module?
A content module gives recurring information a fixed structure. Instead of manually building each service, vacancy or project reference as a standard page, you manage content through defined fields, allowing the website to display it consistently and automatically.
Which content modules are available?
Orbyte supports modules for services, events, FAQs, jobs, news, products, project references and team members, among others. Depending on your project, available modules can be combined or additional functionality can be considered.
What is the benefit of a content module?
Structured content is easier to manage and stays more consistent. It can also be used automatically in listings, filters, search results and other parts of the website.
Do I need a separate module for every kind of content?
Not necessarily. Standard pages are sufficient for content that appears only occasionally. A separate content module becomes particularly useful when the same kind of information recurs regularly or needs to be used in several places.
Meertaligheid
Can my website be multilingual?
Yes. Orbyte supports multilingual websites with different language versions managed centrally within the same website.
Can I add another language later?
Yes, when the chosen structure supports it. You do not necessarily need to build a new website if your organisation later wants to communicate in an additional language.
Are translations created automatically?
Depending on the project, translations can be supplied manually or with the support of translation technology. The website primarily provides a clear structure that keeps the different language versions correctly linked.
Does every page need to exist in every language?
Not necessarily. Depending on the chosen setup, content can be managed by language. This means you do not always have to publish exactly the same information in every language.
SEO & vindbaarheid
Is an Orbyte website optimised for search engines?
The technical foundation accounts for factors such as correct HTML structure, metadata, search-friendly URLs and performance. Good visibility also depends heavily on the content you publish.
Can I edit page titles and meta descriptions myself?
Yes. SEO information can be managed per page or content type wherever the website supports this.
Is Orbyte also prepared for AI search engines?
We build content with a clear structure and make it technically accessible so search engines and AI systems can better understand what pages are about. Good structure and clear content support both traditional SEO and visibility in AI search.
Does Orbyte guarantee a high position in Google?
No. Technical optimisation provides a good foundation, but rankings also depend on content, competition, authority and other external factors. Nobody can reliably guarantee a particular position in Google.
Can structured data be added?
Yes. Where relevant, structured data can be added to help search engines interpret specific content. Which schemas are useful depends on the type of website and content.
AI-assistent
What does the AI assistant do?
The AI assistant lets visitors ask questions in everyday language and uses available website content to provide relevant answers. This helps visitors find information faster without having to navigate through several pages themselves.
Does the AI assistant only use information from my website?
The exact behaviour depends on the chosen configuration. The aim is for the assistant to base its answers on verified information made available for your organisation.
Does the AI assistant replace the search function?
Not necessarily. Both can work alongside each other. A traditional search function is useful for finding specific pages or documents, while an AI assistant is particularly suited to answering questions in everyday language.
Can the AI assistant be added later?
Yes. If your plan and website are suitable, an AI assistant can also be integrated later.
Veiligheid & onderhoud
How is my website kept secure?
Security starts with the technical foundation and requires ongoing maintenance. We limit unnecessary dependencies, apply relevant updates and pay attention to access management and the website’s overall technical operation.
Is Drupal updated regularly?
Yes. Technical maintenance aims to keep the software in use current and supported. The exact services included in your maintenance agreement are clearly defined during the project.
Are hosting and maintenance included?
Hosting and technical maintenance are clearly set out in your website proposal. Which recurring services are included, and on what terms, depends on the chosen plan and service.
Do you back up the website?
When Orbyte provides hosting and technical management, backup arrangements are included in the technical service. Specific retention periods and procedures may vary depending on the chosen hosting solution.
Is my website monitored?
Depending on the chosen service, technical monitoring may be part of maintenance. This helps identify and follow up on problems more quickly.
What happens when Drupal releases a new version?
New Drupal versions are part of the CMS’s normal evolution. Because Orbyte uses a verified foundation and carefully selected components, we aim to keep upgrades as manageable as possible without rebuilding the website each time.
Formules & prijzen
Which Orbyte plan do I need?
This mainly depends on how much content you have, how many languages you need and which elements you want to manage yourself. During an initial conversation, we assess which plan meets your needs today and which options could be added later.
What is the difference between Essential, Standard and Pro?
Essential focuses on a compact professional website. Standard offers more room for pages, languages and structured content, while Pro is designed for organisations with substantial content, different audiences or a broader offering.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. When your needs change, we can assess which elements of a larger plan can be added to your existing website. This means you do not automatically have to start again.
Do I pay for features I do not use?
Orbyte’s principle is to include only the components relevant to your website. Extra languages, modules and other extensions are added when you actually need them.
Can I add something that is not included in my plan as standard?
Often, yes. Depending on the plan and technical feasibility, available Orbyte features can be added separately. For highly specific functionality, we first assess whether it fits within Orbyte.
What determines the final price of my website?
The price depends on factors including your chosen plan, the number of pages, languages, content modules, design work and any extensions or integrations. You therefore receive a concrete proposal after we discuss your project.
Project & oplevering
What do you need to get started on my website?
We start with your goals, content, audiences and what the website needs to do. We then define the right plan, structure, content modules and any extensions.
Does all the content need to be ready before you start?
Not necessarily, but a clear picture of the intended content helps define the right structure. At the start, we agree which text, images and other information are needed and when.
Who enters the content?
This is agreed at the start. Depending on the project, Orbyte can populate finished pages while you manage other content yourself or add it later.
Can you replace an existing website?
Yes. We assess which existing content should be retained and how best to move it into the new structure. The scope and approach of any content migration depend on the existing website.
Will existing URLs be retained?
Where possible, we retain relevant URLs. When addresses change, redirects can be set up to guide visitors and search engines to the correct new page.
Can I keep my existing domain name?
Yes. An existing domain name can normally be retained and pointed to the new website at launch.
Koppelingen & formulieren
Can Orbyte be connected to other systems?
Integrations are possible when the external system provides suitable technical options and the integration fits within Orbyte. Examples include CRM, newsletter and other business applications.
Can forms be adapted to the way we work?
Yes. Forms can be tailored to the information you need and extended depending on your requirements.
Are Orbyte forms also suitable for smartphones and tablets?
Yes. Forms automatically adapt to the screen size, making them easy to complete on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
